Kyoko
began her dance career with classical ballet
at the age of seven and performed with the Pacific Northwest
Ballet and Tokyo Ballet. She was first introduced to
the art of Flamenco while traveling in Spain and began
her studies in Washington, DC in 2001 with notable teachers
such as La Tati, Omayra Amaya, Edwin Aparicio, Anna
Mendéz and Sara Candela, and performed in theater’s
and Tablaos throughout the Washington DC metro area.
Kyoko travels to Spain annually to perfect her skills
and in the past has studied with Rafaela Carrasco, María
del Mar Moreno, Manolo Marín, Manolete, Belén
Fernandez, Manuel Soler, and El Guito. She recently
relocated to Miami and looks forward to integrating
into the South Florida Flamenco community.
