Jorge Luis Perez
Mr. Perez began playing the guitar at the age of five, and was well prepared when his musical love and curiosity led him to the path of Flamenco in 1986. He progressed rapidly under the guidance of Mario Escudero and Jose Luis Rodriguez, and in 1989 became the first Latin American to be awarded, Honorary Member of the Peña Flamenca de Huelva (Andalucia, Spain). As a composer, soloist and accompanist, Jorge Luis has performed throughout Latin America and the United States. In addition to working with companies such as Carlota Santana’s Flamenco Vivo, Jose Greco II, and Bailes Ferrer, he has also been featured in well-known festivals such as Michigan’s International Festival of World Music and Dance, and the University of New Mexico’s Festival Flamenco Internacional. Jorge Luis is currently performing and teaching in the South Florida area.
