Jorge
Luis Perez
Mr. Perez began playing the guitar at the
age of five, and was well prepared when his musical
love and curiosity led him to the path of Flamenco in
1986. He progressed rapidly under the guidance of Mario
Escudero and Jose Luis Rodriguez, and in 1989 became
the first Latin American to be awarded, Honorary Member
of the Peña Flamenca de Huelva (Andalucia, Spain).
As a composer, soloist and accompanist, Jorge Luis has
performed throughout Latin America and the United States.
In addition to working with companies such as Carlota
Santana’s Flamenco Vivo, Jose Greco II, and Bailes
Ferrer, he has also been featured in well-known festivals
such as Michigan’s International Festival of World
Music and Dance, and the University of New Mexico’s
Festival Flamenco Internacional. Jorge Luis is currently
performing and teaching in the South Florida area.
