Ana
Miranda
began her training in Flamenco in 1996, having
had a background in classical and modern dance in addition
to improvisation. She has studied Flamenco locally with
Damaris Ferrer, Clarita
Filgueiras, Estrella Morena and Omayra Amaya. Additionally,
she has studied at the Amor de Dios studios in Spain
and at the Flamenco Festival in New Mexico, taking classes
with master artists such as Maria Pagés, Mercedes
Ruiz and Israel Galván. She has performed with
Bailes Ferrer
since 1998 and is also a member of Clarita Filgueiras-Flamenco
Puro in Miami. Ms. Miranda has a Master’s degree
in dance/movement therapy and has been an adjunct professor
for the FIU Dance Department.
